MY APPROACH

I offer a warm and empathetic approach. This is my personal style.  It also reflects my core belief that progress is more achievable when clients, whether in treatment as individuals or couples, feel at ease and can be their true selves in a safe space without fear of judgment. Together, we will identify your strengths and use them to address obstacles. I will ask probing questions that challenge you to think about your assumptions from a new perspective, and I will actively listen. 

Every individual is unique – with their own distinct background, needs, concerns, and goals for life. That’s why I customize a treatment plan for each client, using a person-centered approach to therapy that considers all aspects of your life experience. 

I combine psychotherapy with a wide range of evidence-based treatments to help you understand and address the root causes of your challenges and we will set out on a path to achieve your goals. Among the range of therapeutic approaches I draw from are:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a highly effective, evidence-based therapeutic approach that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. CBT will give you insight into your thought patterns and equip you with effective coping strategies to live a more fulfilling life.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you identify your values and take actions that align with those values. ACT can help you observe your thoughts and feelings without judgement and learn strategies that enable you to live in the present moment.

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an evidence-based approach to couples and individual therapy that focuses on identifying and addressing the emotional needs and attachment patterns underlying relationship struggles. EFT helps clients create more secure and fulfilling connections by fostering emotional openness and a deeper level of understanding and empathy, ultimately leading to healthier relationships.

  • We will incorporate mindfulness into our sessions to help you develop greater self-awareness, aid in emotional regulation, and enhance overall well-being. Techniques such as meditation, daily gratitude, journaling, and cultivating confidence and resilience will be integrated into our work together.
